On 22 October, the government announced NZ$2.8 million in support for oyster-farming infrastructure in Kaipara, including a commercial pilot farm and mentoring from experienced growers to build local capability. The grant supports the wider industry-resilience project rather than a separately priced recruitment contract; employers, training providers and HR consultants can explore skills-gap analysis, workforce forecasting and training dashboards, while HPC can support data-driven workforce planning with a tailored quotation.
